Understanding The Spirit Of Things- What We Do Not Want To Ask

As we all wait fervently for a solution to the current health threats besetting every corner of the planet, it has to be said that even the most learned and educated amongst us must question how much do we really know about ourselves, our environment, and the true condition of our health? Where do viruses come from? Why do they manifest? What are the root causes of diseases? The masses shy away from asking these sobering questions, opting instead for quick fixes from the medical profession because no human wants to endure pain. We need to question how is it possible for all of us to be on a planet sharing the same air and yet having such varied experiences. What is really going on?

Whether intended or not, we have deified the field of medicine by turning to its practitioners wholly for all our solutions- which would be no source of concern if their track record showed they had answers to every health problem faced by humanity. It is undeniable the industry has made discoveries that have supported our health conditions in the main. We are grateful for this but equally, we cannot ignore there are other factors interwoven in the ecosystem that create the very essence of life for which the scientific world has yet to tap into. Against this backdrop, some of the medical health solutions come with a high price tag, which some would have rejected had they known the full facts or been presented with an alternative with a lower price tag.

Human nature is such that when confronted with problems, we are apt to find the most cost-effective option (the lowest costs) for the maximum benefits. We call it value for money. In the absence of moral excellence, the choice will be made at the expense of other human beings or the very eco-system supports life- usually violating the rights of others to dignity, respect and worse still, the right to protect their own lives.

Is it possible that the roots of our diseases and viruses stem from the very act of violating one another? Everything we do involves thinking and acting. Does the scientific world know the exact cause of all diseases or viruses? Is our cumulative health affected by the act of waging war, backbiting, and maltreatment of others? And if so, how? Until we know these answers we will not be able to eradicate our problems.

We can be sure our lives as conscious beings are rooted in our capacity to think. Without thought, we cannot be aware of the self. How we think and the full impacts of our thoughts are beyond the bounds of science but sure enough, thoughts influence the fabric of our lives. Our thoughts can either be positive or negative just as the two forces that seem to permeate our environment.

The POSITIVE force is the giving force. It is that spark in us which yearns for healthy connection with others. To yearn to do good to others. To yearn for harmony and peace with others recognizing the unity of all things.

The NEGATIVE force is the receiving force. The lower self within us that wants to devour everything. It wants to harm others, to feel superior over them; blaming and criticizing is its mantra. Sadly our ego keeps us glued to this force until we develop the power to rise above it through love for others.

We know there are many scientific studies that have shown evidence that happy people are healthier. Neuroscience has shown the biochemical makeup of happy people provides a sense of calmness and creativity which gives them the added advantage over those who are unhappy with life. We also know that science has shown people who are stressed and downbeat about life tend to be more prone to diseases and all manner of bad experiences.

Of course, everyone goes through life facing events of challenges; as they occur we have the capacity to think about how we react to them. This is where the two forces come into play. Will you invoke POSITIVE FORCES like LOVE and KINDNESS or NEGATIVE FORCES like HATE and FEAR?

We all have these choices to make and it matters how one reacts to events. People who are more predisposed to happiness have mastered the art of LOVE, GRATITUDE, KINDNESS, HARMONY, AND JOY. Those who are not will opt for DISCORD and SADNESS. Whichever camp is chosen, there are consequences but their creation is not always visible to mankind. All of this means, all our actions come with corresponding reactions as well as effects in our environment; needless to say as our limited senses do not afford us the capacity to see the chain effects of them, we are blinded at some level of our very existence. I would like to call this spiritual blindness. What we see in our environment is a product of all levels of our existence-spirit, mental, emotions and physical.

The quickest way for someone to worsen their life’s condition is to indulge in negative interactions with others as well as harboring thoughts of anger, sadness, despondency, and despair. Thoughts focussing on the absence of support or inadequacy are all recipes for bad experience- yet the correlation between thoughts and diseases is rarely given attention. Would the human species ever learn how to master his environment?

We are spirit beings and our thoughts create — the visible and the invisible, we must inevitably conclude that everything we see in our world has been created by our thoughts, beliefs, and interactions with one another. Everything we do stems from our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions. Our five senses emanate from thoughts. We cannot claim we created technology and the advanced modes of transportation but did not have some hands in creating viruses or any other ills. This sounds nonsensical.

For every action, there is a reaction. The trouble for mankind is we never see the reaction to all our actions and are prone to blaming others for our self-made problems. When we learn to intentionally think lovingly about our interaction with others we will learn to see the spirit of all things created and become more conscious.

Everything in our environment is a reflection of the spirit with which we operate. Harmony and love will reflect a healthy environment, whereas discord and hate will reflect an unhealthy environment. The question for us to ask ourselves is this- what are we doing on a daily basis to create true health as supposed to the pseudo pharmaceutical health.
